Nature-based education focuses on bringing the learning into the great outdoors. Through exploration, observation, connection and expression we guide children through hands-on activities with their natural surroundings.
A connection to place offers more than just a physical memory. A deeper connection is made, allowing for increased levels of care for the happenings in that space. This is the beginning of stewardship.
Children learn through play! We are dedicated to providing space for your child to play, engage with peers, explore, take age-appropriate risks and develop their social/emotional skills in a natural environment.
The current program is held monthly at Cutthroat Brook Tree Farm in Athol, MA. Please see homepage for more details, or reach out to peacefulrootscentralma@gmail.com
"Hello to all families, children and outdoor enthusiasts,
Bobby Curley here, President and Trailwhisper of North Quabbin Trails Association.
I would like to briefly explain to you the wonderful, simpatico relationship that has developed between NQTA and Peaceful Roots.
NQTA has built out a stewardship mapped trail systems called the 250 miles Quabbin to Monadnock of interconnected trail systems.
Inside of that NQTA has created 4 Anchor Centers trail systems of many varied outdoor adventures and education possibilities.
Last Summer Prof. Carlee's Peaceful Roots organization held a packed and highly successful naturalist program for children and families at NQTA's number #1 premiere Anchor Center, the pristine 16 mile Feldmans Cutthroat Brook Gnome trails.
This programming aligns perfectly with NQTA's mission of Accessibility and Sociability for All.
This multi-week Peaceful Roots programming is at the very apex of what we are both promoting to provide to the community at a low cost with an education of naturalist environmental wonderments and most importantly FUN with true quality bonding time for all who participated.
This type of educational programming and naturalist health benefits in this age of relentess social media onslaught is such a needed commodity today for children and families alike.
I couldn't more highly recommend Prof. Carlee and her Peaceful Roots program!"
